“Through the church corporate fast, I realized how we are more sensitive to the voice of God and how He wants to use us. I was going through a stage where I would constantly argue with my teacher and storm out the room because I felt I wasn't in the wrong. However, during my fast, I went home to pray and as I was praying I began to feel convicted and a lot more vulnerable than usual. I felt like God was telling me to apologize whether I was right or not. This was not something I was eager to do. My pride was trying to get in the way, but I really felt God was putting this on my heart to do. The next day I had a talk with my teacher and apologized. She told me that she knew I was a Christian and she appreciated the time I took out to talk to her. Had I been too busy with daily distractions I wouldn’t have recognized God telling me to do this. Our actions towards others are very important as people are watching us as Christians and want to see how we are different. Fasting helped me to be sensitive to hear from God and because I felt Gods voice telling me to do this not only did I benefit from becoming closer to my teacher but by doing this I also brought glory to Him.”
